IBM East Africa

IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Armonk, New York, United States, with operations in over 170 countries. The company originated in 1911 as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR) and was renamed "International Business Machines" in 1924.

The scope and nature of support IBM will provide to ACE-DS:

  • IBM participation as a partner for the ACE-DS;
  • IBM collaboration in research projects through identification of topics that can add value to policy formulation and availing surveys and research datasets;
  • Leverage IBM relationships nationally within Rwanda, the region, and internationally to support securing of research funding, research projects of benefit to Rwanda and the Region;
  • Providing orientation for data production that will lead to policy positions; and
  •  Providing support to enhance the capacity building of the resources at ACE-DS related data production, data management, and use of official data for decision-making and policy formulation in conjunction with the centre
  • Staff of IBM will be involved in short training and other professional training related to data processing and information technology solutions,
  • Staff of IBM will be involved in research
  • Donation of equipment
  • Sharing other resource
