A new Data-Driven incubation hub that seeks to transform students' ideas into solutions that can be of importance to the country and beyond, has been launched at the African Centre of Excellence in Data Science (ACE-DS) located at the headquarters of the University of Rwanda (UR) in Kigali.

Four PhD candidates successfully defend their research theses
On 11th July 20024, four PhD candidates have successfully defended their PhD research theses. They are Mr. Valence Ngabo Maniragaba who defended the thesis entitled ‘Analysis the Epidemiology of Undernutrition among the Under-Five Children in Uganda using Data Science Analytics’.
ACE-DS completes a three-days PhD Symposium

PhD students and their supervisors have conducted a two-day PhD symposium from 27th to 28th March 2024 in which they interacted and discussed their research projects.The symposium is organized in the effort to make sure there is a serious and tough supervision in order to get the best PhD students who will bring solutions to existing challenges that are pressing the country and the region.

Over 100 UR statistics students complete data analysis training

A total of 108 students from the Applied Statistics Department at the University of Rwanda (UR), on December 13, concluded a three-day boot camp focused on training in data analysis using Python.The training programme was organised by the African Centre of Excellence in Data Science (ACE-DS) in partnership with the Applied Statistics Students Association (ASSA), with support from Cenfri, which facilitated the engagement of experienced trainers.

Thousands of University of Rwanda graduates, along with their friends and families, gathered on Friday, November 17, to celebrate UR's ninth graduation ceremony at Ubworoherane Stadium in Musanze District, Northern Province. The event saw 8,321 students graduate from the UR’s six colleges; 5,063 males and 3,258 females received various degrees from diplomas to PhDs.
